They can incorporate a module for measuring the Maximum inspiratory and expiratory pressures ( MIP-MEP) and another module for pulse oximetry measurement ( SpO2) . An optional software allows connection to a computer in real or deferred time, in order to perform and store the spirometric tests, or to transfer information by other means. All the system is controlled by a microprocessor for the acquisition, calculation and display of alphanumeric and graphic data.
